Woori Yallock

Woori Yallock has been one of the leading lights in the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League since the competition was formed in 1966. To date the club has won a dozen senior grade premierships, four in the single division league which operated from 1966 to 1977, and eight in Division One. Only Upwey Tecoma, with thirteen senior grade flags, boasts a better record. The Tigers have also claimed a total of eight reserve grade flags together with nine at under eighteens level.

Over the past decade the Tigers have been far and away the Yarra Ranges Football Netball League's outstanding club. Runners-up in 2007 and 2009, they broke through for a premiership in 2010 courtesy of a 17.16 (118) to 17.8 (110) grand final defeat of Gembrook Cockatoo. Two years later the Tigers again accounted for Gembrook Cockatoo on grand final day, this time by a 35 point margin, 16.15 (111) to 10.16 (76). The following season brought a second successive flag with Upwey Tecoma providing the grand final opposition on this occasion, and Woori Yallock edging home by a couple of goals. The 2014 season brought the rare achievement of a hat trick of flags, with the Tigers overcoming the grand final challenge of Wandin by 14 points, 10.13 (73) to 9.5 (59). Over the last three seasons Woori Yallock has continued at the forefront of the game in their locality with the seniors finishing fifth in Division One in 2015, fourth in 2016 and runners-up to Olinda Ferny Creek in 2017 and to Wandin in 2018.
